NOMAD Presentation at Kick-off Meeting of Cluster Project ADVISE

NOMAD coordinator Madalina Rabung from Fraunhofer Institute IZFP was pleased to accept the invitation of the ADVISE consortium to take part in its project kick-off meeting at EDF, Moret-sur-Loing, France from October 4-5, 2017. On the second meeting day, she introduced the participants to the NOMAD project by presenting the project’s goals, its concept and main vision.

Just like NOMAD, the project ADVISE “ADVanced Inspection of Complex StructurEs” coordinated by Andreas Schumm, EDF, France, has been funded under the same H2020 call within the Euratom research and training programme 2014-2018 and also runs for a period of four years. It aims to advance the ultrasonic inspection of complex structured materials, for which conventional ultrasonic techniques suffer from severe performance limitations due to the micro and/or macro structure.

Both projects have the same objective: to improve nuclear safety and identify solutions for safe long-term operation of existing European nuclear power plants (NPPs). The kick-off meeting therefore offered a good opportunity to bring together the project coordinators as well as providing a good starting point for deeper discussions on how to cooperate in the future.
